I'm feeling so in tune with my creative side today! I am so lucky to live in a world where taking a look into other designer's creative process is at the click of my fingertips. Browsing upon design blog after blog, I decided to look into my photo album archive to get some more images to work with. My most favorite place in the entire world is Paris in the summer time. I was there last winter (not summer, I know), and got some great shots of the magnificent Eiffel tower. What I would give to be sitting beneath it with a bottle of wine, a baguette, and a great book. Paris, I promise, one day you will be my home. Until then, I'll obsess over french fashion, men, and food. love love love.

totally tropically inspired sundays

Today is a lazy Sunday and I have spent the vast majority of it admiring other blogs and sites that really give me piece of mind. In doing so, I came across designlovefest,and I was SO in love! Not only is it just a great place to check out amazing design work, but they offer photo shop courses around the US for bloggers to get to know how they can use photoshop to their advantage. Given the fact that my skills are certainly more advanced in photoshop then blogging, I decided to mess around for a bit and create a visually inspiring image that I took when I was in Hawaii this last year. Allowing my mind to drift to tropical places like Hawaii can help me create work in a clearer sense of mind. I have a habit of obssessing over circles and gradients and using bright but transparent colors. Enjoy!

Today is the day I commit to blogging at least three times a week from now on. Whether I share sources of inspiration, or my work, I hereby declare that I will only upload work of integrity and design creativity. To put it more simply, work that is worth your time. On that note, I would like to share my personal logo I developed. It took me a long time and a lot of bad logo designs to finally create a symbol that would accurately convey my personal unique design aesthetic. It was important to me that I channel my love of art nouveau, an illustrative style, a whimsical element, and soft muted pastel colors.

I still feel there are many adjustments that can be made, but overall, I feel I truly captured the essence of my own personal aesthetic that sets me aside from other designers today. This logo stays true to who I am and will help me when I start looking for a job in the design field to develop and maintain my own brand.

SF foodie!

Last quarter for my Publication Design class,I designed a magazine called "SFfoodie" and had so much fun in the creative process! I went to a ton of great restaurants in the city and tried loads of yummy dishes and photographed them for my content images. One of the best things about living here in the city is the food scene and I am VERY much involved. Check out some of the amazing photos I took at Zuni, Bar Agricole, and Mission Chinese food as well as the entire magazine itself. A lot of the pages are stronger than others and I think I am most pleased with the cover. thoughts?

Well the Fall Quarter has begun a lot faster than I had intended! I'm loving some of my new classes, specifically my Graphics and Licensing as well as Applied Branding. For Graphics and Licensing, we are developing characters and branding them as en entity all quarter long, almost as if we were pitching to Disney. I decided to create Russian nesting dolls that come to New York City by way of their new owner bringing them home to his daughter Matilda. I plan on journaling their adventures from the Met to Central Park. Here's what they look like so far!
